Committees  
  • Adult Education Committee - Ken Balick
    The mission of adult education at the JCK is to promote lifelong Jewish learning and discussion reflecting the interests of our members and the underlying values of our Reform Judaism.
    The programs are designed to bring JCK members together to explore topics of interest, share perspectives, and learn from one another, enabling us to become more knowledgeable about our Jewish identity and issues relevant to our congregation and the broader community.   • Building Committee - David Hellman
    The committee is responsible for the business relationship between the Congregation and its physical home. Current activities of the committee include business dealings with the Congregation’s landlord and searching for a site for a synagogue building of our own.

  • Community Outreach - Brian Ginsburg
    This committee is one of the public faces of the JCK. The committee organizes projects, involving both adults and children, through which congregants can help those less fortunate. The committee has developed annual programs with specific charities.

  • Education Committee - Ilene Cohn
    The Education Committee is the oversight organization for the JCK School. It works in conjunction with the School Administrator and Rabbi to develop curriculum, raise money for the school and serve as liaison with the Board of Trustees.

  • Membership Committee - Susan Mittler 
    Members of this committee seek to attract and retain members of the Congregation. The committee members make themselves available to perspective members and make sure that all their concerns and questions about membership are active. Throughout the year, they run functions designed to show the warmth and inclusiveness of the JCK.

  • Finance Committee - David Goldman 
    This committee, chaired by the JCK Treasurer, is responsible for developing the annual operating budget.

  • Fundraising Committee - David Hellman
    The Fundraising Committee develops programming designed to supplement membership dues.

  • House and Grounds - David Goldman 
    This committee is responsible for maintenance of the JCK’s office and school space.

  • Long Range Planning - Sol Goldenberg
    This committee meets to discuss the future of the JCK. It looks at the direction of the Congregation and offers the Board of Trustees suggestions about areas of improvement.

  • Oneg Shabbat - Deborah Kahn

  • Publicity - Sharon Suntag
    The members of this committee represent another public face of the JCK. The committee issues press releases and arranges for the press to visit and interview various members of the Congregation at various times. It serves to raise the profile of the JCK within the community.

  • Ritual Committee - Sol Goldenberg
    The Ritual Committee, working closely with the Rabbi, plans the regular and holiday services for the Congregation.

  • Social Committee - Carol Elstein
    The Social Committee is responsible for planning social gatherings for the Congregants. It seeks to bring people together in relaxed settings and allow them to socialize with the friends, neighbors and fellow members.

  • Webmistress - Jody Goldenberg
    Administers the Web page and oversees Yahoo group lists.
